Middle East Technical University (METU) systematically records and monitors student enrolment data by gender. Data obtained from the University's VARSIS information system provide annual statistics on the number of female and male students who enrolled at METU through the Central Placement Examination.

The records cover the years 2021–2025 and enable the University to monitor changes in women's and men's enrolment numbers over time. In 2025, 1,165 female students and 1,422 male students enrolled through the Central Placement Examination, corresponding to 45.0% and 55.0%, respectively, of the 2,587 students enrolled through this route.

The five-year records provide a quantitative basis for examining gender patterns in student entry and identifying changes in women's representation among newly enrolled students. When considered alongside application and admission data, these statistics can contribute to a broader assessment of gender equality in access to higher education.

METU's gender-disaggregated enrolment records, maintained in VARSIS, support institutional monitoring of student entry patterns and provide a basis for further analysis of women's access to university education.
