Anchored by the flagship institutional campaign "Kaynak ODTÜ" (Source METU), the university combines infrastructure deployment with high-visibility awareness campaigns advocating that "Clean drinking water is everyone's right" while encouraging responsible consumption and eliminating single-use plastics.

1. Active Campus Campaigns & Water Stewardship Initiatives

• "Kaynak ODTÜ" Campaign Promotion: Developed in collaboration with METU alumni and university supporters, "Kaynak ODTÜ" actively engages students, academic/administrative staff, and visitors in water conservation. The campaign promotes the efficient use of natural water resources by deploying accessible drinking water refilling stations across campus nodes.
• Plastic Reduction & Reusable Bottle Culture: The initiative directly promotes water conservation and environmental protection by encouraging the campus community to switch from single-use bottled water to reusable bottles filled at purified lake water stations (sourced from Lake Eymir), building a strong culture of circular resource management.
• Campus-Wide Awareness Outreach: Through digital portals, campus signage, orientation programs, and alumni networks, METU continuously reinforces individual responsibility toward natural water ecosystems and sustainable campus living.
