Middle East Technical University (METU) provides free, continuous educational opportunities and interactive workshops for local communities, primary/secondary school students, and civil society to advance awareness on water management, marine ecosystems, and sustainable water resources. Coordinated by the METU Center for Climate Change and Sustainable Development (ODTÜ İKLİM) and the METU Institute of Marine Sciences (ODTÜ IMS), these educational programs emphasize inclusive, hands-on learning across various regional communities.

1. Free Educational Outreach & Interactive Workshops

• Ocean And Climate Awareness Workshops (Free Public & School Workshops): METU offers 100% free educational workshops targeting youth and local community members aged 6–18, with a special focus on reaching schools in socio-economically disadvantaged regions.

        Curriculum & Water Governance Scope: Workshops designed and delivered by METU IMS researchers cover:

• Sustainable use and protection of marine and freshwater ecosystems.
• Impacts of climate change on water resources and aquatic biodiversity.
