New Ideas New Businesses (YFYİ)

Türkiye's first early-stage acceleration programme, run by METU and METU Technopolis since 2005, helps students, recent graduates and early-stage entrepreneurs turn technology-based ideas into companies through training, mentoring and a Demo Day. In its 21st year, the 2025 programme accepted applications until 20 October 2025, and on 17 December 2025 ten teams – from artificial intelligence to space technology – presented their ventures to investors, jury members and ecosystem representatives at YFYİ Demo Day. Over its history, YFYİ has received more than 5,500 applications, supported more than 230 start-ups and worked with more than 120 mentors. Participants receive training and consultancy free of charge, and successful entrepreneurs are given free office space at METU Technopolis.

Türkiye's first pre-incubation centre for digital games and animation, opened in May 2008, gives teams a 600 m² open office, meeting rooms, technical infrastructure, training and one year of support. It has served more than 1,600 developers and young entrepreneurs; 30 of the more than 150 teams it has supported have become companies, and more than 800 games developed by its teams have reached over 30 million players.
