METU supports students in financial need from low and lower-middle income countries through tuition fee discounts and exemptions and through the same meal, dormitory and cash support available to Turkish students.

Tuition fee discounts and exemptions

Under METU's Implementation Principles on Tuition Discounts or Exemptions for International Undergraduate Students (Ankara campus), international students are evaluated every year without needing to apply and can receive a partial or full tuition exemption based on their academic performance.

Meal, dormitory and cash support

International students in financial need can apply to the METU Scholarship and Tuition Fee Office for the meal, dormitory and cash support funded through the METU Development Foundation, on the same basis as Turkish students.

2025

In 2025, METU processed applications from 975 international undergraduate candidates, admitted 284 and enrolled 224, and a further 23 students enrolled as Türkiye Scholarship holders (METU Directorate of Student Affairs, 2025 Activity Report).
