11.4.3. Allow remote working

Middle East Technical University (METU), as a public university, does not operate a general institutional remote-working policy for its employees. However, within applicable regulations and the requirements of their duties, academic personnel may have some flexibility in arranging their working hours and carrying out work remotely where feasible.

METU also provides digital infrastructure that supports access to institutional resources and enables employees to carry out certain work-related tasks beyond the campus. The University's METUCloud file-sharing service enables users to store and share files, while the METU VPN service allows staff and students to access designated campus network services from outside the campus network.

These digital services support flexible work practices by facilitating remote access to institutional resources and work-related files. However, they are enabling tools rather than evidence of a formal university-wide telecommuting policy.
