In 2025, METU gave its staff access to mental health support and promoted their well-being as part of its Strategic Plan.

A strategic commitment with a measured target

METU's 2023–2027 Strategic Plan, approved at the joint meeting of the University Senate and the University Administrative Board on 26 April 2022, sets Objective 3.3: 'Introducing practices to protect the general well-being of employees'. One of its strategies is to raise awareness of the psychological counseling services the university provides. Its performance indicator is the number of staff who apply to units providing psychological support: the 2025 target was 560 and the actual figure was 564 (METU 2025 Administrative Activity Report).
