In 2025, METU students had free access to sexual and reproductive health care, and to information and education, at the METU Health and Guidance Centre (SRM) on the Ankara campus.
Clinical services
SRM's gynaecology clinic, staffed by a specialist gynaecologist (with a second specialist assigned in 2025), provides examinations for gynaecological conditions, pregnancy and menopause, cervical smear tests for cervical cancer screening and ultrasonography, and explains preventive health practices. In 2025, the clinic handled 6,538 consultations. Students pay nothing: SRM collected no treatment contribution fees from students in 2025.
Information and education
SRM publishes free health information leaflets on its website, including 'Genital HPV Infection' and 'Breast Self-Examination', prepared by SRM physicians.
On 6 November 2025, SRM invited all students and staff to a seminar by the Ankara Cancer Early Diagnosis, Screening and Training Centre (KETEM) on early diagnosis in cancer, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
