METU has a smoke-free policy that bans smoking inside all university buildings and designates smoke-free zones around them.

Policy

METU's Tobacco Smoking Policy states that every member of the METU community is expected to make responsible choices about tobacco smoking and that METU commits to fulfil its obligations and take institutional measures under the Law on the Prevention of Harms of Tobacco Products (No. 4207).

Scope

Smoking is prohibited in all indoor spaces on all METU campuses, and smoke-free zones are designated around building entrances.
