METU provides neutral platforms where government bodies, professional organisations, civil society and researchers can meet and discuss shared challenges openly.

Türkiye's Disaster Risk Management Roundtable (27th meeting, 21 February 2025)

Since 1997, the METU Disaster Management Implementation and Research Centre has convened the 'Türkiye's Disaster Risk Management Roundtable Meeting', a recurring forum where managers, NGO representatives, practitioners and researchers from different disciplines share knowledge and discuss disaster risk frankly. The 27th meeting was held on 21 February 2025 at the METU Culture and Convention Centre. Participants included the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), represented by its Director General of Earthquake and Risk Reduction; the Chamber of Civil Engineers, whose Disaster Preparedness and Response Board gave four presentations; the Turkish-Japanese Foundation; and METU CLIMATE, which presented on climate-related disaster resilience.
